In her rookie season, No. 41 Carolina Gomez Alonso posted a 12-5 dual singles record (19-6 overall), primarily competing at the No. 2 position for the Razorbacks where she went 8-5. Against ranked opponents, Gomez Alonso went 3-5, including a ranked win over Auburn’s No. 46 Arsenault to help secure the upset over then-No.12 Auburn. Gomez Alonso was named the SEC Freshman of the Year and earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors twice.

A Madrid, Spain native, Carolina is the daughter of Jose Luis and Clara Gomez and has one sister, Jimena. Her favorite athlete is Rafa Nadal and she plans on becoming a professional tennis player after college.
