Senior (2025-26)
During her Senior campaign, Gomez Alonso has registered a 17-8 overall singles record while playing at the No. 1 position all season, where she went 7-5. Carolina started the season ranked No. 39 in singles, and No. 78 in doubles with her partner Anet Koskel in the ITA rankings. During the fall, Gomez Alonso was 8-5 in doubles and 10-3 in singles. Gomez Alonso was the ITA Central Regional Singles Champion in singles, as well as in doubles with Anet Koskel. During the NCAA Championships, Gomez Alonso stormed into the round of 16 to become the first ITA All-American at Arkansas since 2009. During the round of 16, Gomez Alonso defeated No. 3 Piper Charney from the University of Michigan, this advanced her to the Elite Eight, she is only the third Razorback to do so. Alongside her partner, Koskel, Gomez Alonso advanced to the round of 16 in doubles and were the first duo to make the Sweet 16 since 2017. In dual matches, Carolina is 13-5 in doubles alongside Koskel, and is 7-5 in singles. She is currently ranked 33 in singles and 25 in doubles in the ITA rankings.
Junior (2024-25)
During her Junior campaign, Gomez Alonso registered a 11-15 overall singles record while playing at the No. 1 position all season, where she went 7-10. To start the season Carolina was ranked No. 18 in singles, and No. 71 in doubles with her partner Bienzobas in the ITA rankings. Gomez Alonso played the majority of her doubles matches with Olga Bienzobas, but also played some matches with Katarina Pavlechova. During the fall, she was 4-5 with Bienzobas in doubles, and 4-5 in singles. Then in dual matches, she was 10-6 with Bienzobas and 2-0 with Pavlechova in doubles, and 7-10 in singles. Carolina finished the season ranked No. 65 in singles and No. 27 in doubles with her partner Bienzobas in the ITA rankings.
Sophomore (2023-24)
During her Sophomore campaign, Gomez Alonso registered a 17-9 overall singles record while playing at the No. 1 position all season, where she went 13-7. In the fall, Gomez Alonso reached the quarterfinals of the ITA All-American Championships after defeating No. 15 Brown (Michigan) in the Round of 32 and No. 44 Wooten (Wake Forest) in the Round of 16 before falling in three sets to No. 3 Noel (Miami). Gomez Alonso opened 2024 with a three-match winning streak, including a victory over No. 110 Mulville (Kansas) at the Duel in the Desert. Gomez Alonso recorded with a six-match winning streak that included three ranked victories (No. 23 Cabezas, No. 32 Bencheikh, No. 108 Leong). Gomez Alonso finished the regular season with four wins in her last six matches, including a victory against No. 11 Mohr (Vanderbilt). Gomez Alonso picked up a win in the SEC Tournament after taking down No. 112 Teixido Garcia (LSU). Gomez Alonso clinched the final point for the Hogs in ranked victories over No. 38 Ole Miss and No. 46 Kansas while earning a singles point in matches against No. 15 Alabama, No. 20 Tennessee, No. 27 Vanderbilt and No. 33 LSU. In doubles, Gomez Alonso partnered with Kelly Keller for the second consecutive year, collecting a record of 9-6 during the dual season on court three and 12-6 overall. Gomez Alonso and Keller began 2024 with three wins at the Duel in the Desert. The duo concluded the season with seven victories in their final eight matches and secured the doubles point for the Razorbacks against No. 27 Vanderbilt, No. 38 Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Gomez Alonso qualified for the NCAA Singles Championships for the second-straight season and finished No. 34 in the final ITA singles rankings. Gomez Alonso received All-SEC First Team honors and achieved a career-high singles ranking of No. 26 during the season.
Freshman (2022-23)
In her rookie season, Carolina Gomez Alonso posted a 12-5 dual singles record (19-6 overall), primarily competing at the No. 2 position for the Razorbacks where she went 8-5. In the fall season, Carolina won her first-seven matches to become the ITA Central Regional Champion and qualify for the ITA Fall National Championships where she advanced to the Round of 16. Against ranked opponents, Gomez Alonso went 3-5, including a ranked win over Auburn’s No. 46 Arsenault to help secure the upset over then-No.12 Auburn. Gomez Alonso was named the SEC Freshman of the Year and earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors twice while being named to the All-SEC Second Team. Gomez Alonso qualified for the NCAA Singles Championships, finishing No. 44 in the final ITA Rankings.
Personal
A Madrid, Spain native, Carolina is the daughter of Jose Luis and Clara Gomez and has one sister, Jimena. Her favorite athlete is Rafa Nadal and she plans on becoming a professional tennis player after college.
