Scott Earns Second League Weekly Honor

FAYETTEVILLE – Taliah Scott was recognized as the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week, her second consecutive weekly honor and second in three weeks, as announced Tuesday. Scott earned the honor with Essence Cody from Alabama.

Scott logged 19.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game in the Hogs’ two games at the Elevance Health Fort Myers Tip-Off. She started the week with 18 points and five boards against Wisconsin along with starting to find her groove from beyond the arc with four 3-pointers against the Badgers. She followed up that performance with her fourth 20-piece of the season, as she led Arkansas with 21 points off 6-of-13 shooting from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line against Marquette. The Orange Park, Florida native went on a streak of 23 consecutive free throws made until missing just one in eight attempts against the Golden Eagles.

Through three weeks into the season, Scott leads the SEC in scoring with 23.1 points per game, which is ninth in the NCAA. Her point total of 162 is the third highest in the country. She paces the league in free throw makes (42) and free throw attempts (48), which is fourth and ninth, respectively in the country. She plays the most minutes per game in the SEC (34.9) and also has the most field goal attempts (123) and is second in field goals made (55).

The Hogs have a huge stretch ahead, as Arkansas will play at No. 15 Florida State for the SEC/ACC Challenge on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN2. Arkansas will then host No. 2 UCLA on Sunday, Dec. 3, which will be broadcast on SECN+.
