Shaun Seibert Named Co-Pitcher of the Year in the Cape Cod League

SOUTH YARMOUTH, Mass. – Arkansas junior-to-be right-handed pitcher Shaun Seibert was named the Co-Pitcher of the Year in the Cape Cod Baseball League on Tuesday afternoon.

The Edwardsville, Ill., native then took the mound and pitched six-scoreless innings in the Brewster Whitecaps’ 4-2 win over the Y-D Red Sox in 13 innings in the opening game of the CCBL Eastern Division Playoffs.

Seibert finished the regular season with a league-best 6-0 record and 0.39 ERA. He pitched 45.2 innings in the regular season, allowing just two earned runs and striking out 36.

Seibert shared the award with Boston College’s Terry Doyle of Yarmouth-Dennis, who also started Tuesday’s opening-round playoff game. Seibert battled Doyle for six scoreless innings, allowing just four hits, striking out six and not walking a batter.

His outing Tuesday lowered his ERA in both the regular-season and playoffs games to 0.35 in 51.2 innings this season.
