Six Hogs Earn SEC Postseason Honors

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Fourth-ranked Arkansas had six student-athletes recognized for SEC Postseason Awards, the league announced on Sunday.

Senior Bryana Hunter was named the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the year and given First Team All-SEC honors. Hunter leads all position players in minutes with 1441. As a defender, she has scored two goals this season and notched one assist. A biochemistry major, Hunter currently holds a 3.98 GPA. She was also named to the SEC Community Service Team earlier this month, and a two-time SEC Defender of the Week this season.

Senior Parker Goins was awarded SEC Midfielder of the Year, and joins Hunter on the First Team All-SEC. She has recorded nine goals and eight assists this season. Goins took over Arkansas’ all-time points record, notching her 105th point versus Missouri on Oct. 15. She also has the most assists in program history. Goins is the first to be awarded SEC Midfielder of the Year in school history. She leads the Hogs in assists (8), shots (51) and shots-on-goal (27).

Junior Anna Podojil and senior Taylor Malham round out Arkansas’ contingent on the First Team. Podojil leads the Razorbacks with 11 goals and 28 points and leads the SEC with two points per game. This is her third-straight appearance on the first team roster. Malham returns to the all-conference squad after joining it in 2019. Malham has netted seven goals for the Hogs and has recorded two braces this season. She was named SEC Defender of the Week for week seven.

Midfielder Kayla McKeon was named to the Second Team All-SEC for the second straight year. McKeon broke the Hogs’ all-time games played record with her 94th, and currently sits at 102. She has started all but one match this season. and has notched five goals and six assists. She scored two goals in the 6-1 victory over Missouri.

Forward Sophia Aragon was voted to the SEC All-Freshman, the third straight year a Hog has been put on the list. Aragon has played in every match this season, playing an average of 43 minutes, leading all freshmen for Arkansas. She has fired off 32 shots this season and assisted in five goals. Aragon was named SEC Freshman of the Week in September.

The reigning SEC Champs return to action this week, beginning the postseason at the SEC Tournament in Orange Beach, Alabama. The Hogs will face the winner of Georgia-LSU in the quarterfinals, scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 5 p.m. The match will be televised live on the SEC Network.
