Soccer Adds Erin Bailey From Transfer Portal

FAYETTEVILLE – Former BYU forward Erin Bailey, one of the nation’s top transfers, has signed with the Arkansas soccer program, head coach Colby Hale announced on Wednesday.

With one year of eligibility left, she joins an offense that had an NCAA-leading 71 goals in the 2024 season. The Hogs earned a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament and ended their season in the Sweet 16 after a penalty kick shootout with Stanford.

“From the first time we chatted with Erin, we knew she’d be a good fit,” Hale said. “She’s a proven goal scorer from a College Cup program in BYU.”

In three seasons out west, Bailey racked up 36 points on 16 goals and two assists. In 2023, she scored 10 goals in 26 appearances for her BYU team that ended its historic season in the College Cup. The Cougars led the NCAA with 79 goals and 238 points.

Last season, the center forward recorded eight starts and scored five goals, including the game winner against Kansas State and a goal against Arkansas. In Big 12 play, she scored a goal in four straight matches and helped her team to a No. 7 seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

In the classroom, Bailey plans to continue her studies in sports journalism. The Layton, Utah native’s academic accolades include placements on the CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-Big 12 teams.

Prior to college, Bailey was a 6A state champion for Layton High School and led the classification in scoring for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
