Soccer Dominates Little Rock, 9-0, for First Win of 2026

FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas soccer picked up its first win of the 2026 season with a 9-0 rout of Little Rock on Sunday afternoon at Razorback Field.

The Hogs wasted no time and scored two goals in a span of 35 seconds in the third minute, both from senior forward Bella Field in the third minute.

The first was a free kick from just outside the 18-yard box taken by junior midfielder Aniyah Nurse-Whyte. She fired past the wall and to the far post into a Trojan defender who redirected the ball into Field’s right foot.

Seconds later, Field received a ball from the midfield and attempted to cross to sophomore forward Vailana Tu’ua inside the box but it was cut off by Trojan goalkeeper Reese Potts. Field picked up the deflection and fired across the ground into a wide-open net.

Freshman midfielder Jordan Bryant extended Arkansas’ lead to 3-0 in the 27th minute after she received a cross from sophomore forward Natalie Wagner.

The Hogs ended the half ahead in shots, 16-2, and forced nine saves.

Arkansas opened the second half the same way it opened the first with a pair of early goals from senior midfielder Kennedy Ball and Wagner.

Ball found the back of the net in the 48th minute after a ball from sophomore forward Vailana Tu’ua was dummied back to Ball through Field’s legs.

Ball assisted in the next goal two minutes later. She took a corner kick across the ground to an open Wagner, who made a run into the 18-yard box. Wagner took one touch before she fired to the far post.

The final four goals were by first-timers freshmen MacKenzie Gwin (56′) and Aynsley Nuckols (86′) and sophomores Paige Szymanski (75′) and Kayla Morawietz (80′).

Morawietz’s came on a corner kick from freshman midfielder Ivy Harding while the rest were in open play.

In goal, Arkansas goalkeepers Keegan Smith and Emily Jenkins made zero saves and combined for the Hogs’ first shutout of the season. Jenkins came in in the 65th minute.

After 90 minutes, the Razorbacks led in shots, 30-6, corner kicks, 8-2, and forced 14 saves.

• Arkansas’ nine goals were its most in a match since 2024, when it beat Northwestern State 10-0.
• Five Razorbacks scored their first collegiate goals: Jordan Bryant (27′), MacKenzie Gwin (56′), Paige Szymanski (75′), Kayla Morawietz (80′) and Aynsley Nuckols (86′).
• Three Razorbacks recorded their first collegiate assists: Paige Szymanski (57′), Ivy Harding (80′) and Nuria Craig (86′).
• Field recorded her third career brace and fourth career multi-goal game. She had a hat trick in Arkansas’ NCAA Tournament match against Grambling in 2023.
