Spink Heads to Charleston for ITA All-American Championships

CHARLESTON, S.C.  –  Sophomore Indianna Spink will compete in her first match of the fall season at LTP Mount Pleasant in Charleston, S.C. for the ITA All-American Championships beginning Monday.

Ranked No. 26 in the ITA preseason rankings, Spink is the No. 2 overall seed in the qualifying draw and will face Pepperdine’s Shiori Fukuda at 9:45 a.m. CT in the round of 64. The singles qualifying round will be played Oct. 4-5 and Spink will need three wins to advance to the main draw.

Spink, the 2021 SEC Freshman of the Year, finished her rookie season with an overall record of 15-9 and earned a spot at the NCAA Championships. Spink played exclusively at the number one and number two spot for the Razorbacks, tallying five ranked wins and never losing to an unranked opponent dating back to the fall season.

Since 1983, the ITA Women’s All-American Championships have featured the nation’s top NCAA Division I players and have been a pioneer in women’s college tennis. The event has created milestones that over the years have directly influenced the popularity of women’s collegiate tennis.
