Evan Johnston returned back to his alma mater in the summer of 2023 as the newly appointed Special Assistant to the Head Coach/Director of Video for the Arkansas women’s basketball team. Having recently completed a season as a graduate assistant with the University of Missouri women’s basketball team, Johnston’s return to Arkansas is a homecoming filled with promise.
Prior to Johnston’s stint at Mizzou, he spent four years working closely with Coach Mike Neighbors as a student assistant/manager. Johnston’s contributions to the Razorbacks were invaluable, as he managed various aspects of the team’s operations. Johnston’s hands-on involvement extended to facilitating drills and scout team activities, managing essential equipment and providing analysis of shot quality and play call metrics. He also shares expertise in video editing and film package production.
Johnston was recognized as the AECT Outstanding Freshman Scholar in May 2019 and later, the AECT Outstanding Senior Scholar in May 2022. Hailing from Charleston, Arkansas, Johnston graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education, complemented by double minors in Agricultural Business and Leadership in 2022.
