Tankersley Collects Third SEC Weekly Honor of the Season
FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas forward Ava Tankersley was named the SEC’s Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season, the league announced Monday.
Tankersley played 88 minutes in the Hogs’ 4-3 win at No. 24 Texas. She recorded her third brace of the season and netted Arkansas’ first and third goals of the match. The win moved the Razorbacks up to No. 2 in the RPI rankings and was the team’s third result against a ranked team this season. Tankersley leads the SEC and Arkansas in goals (10), goals per game (.71) and points per game (2.00).
Tankersley and the fifth-ranked Hogs are winding down the regular season this week and face Texas A&M on Thursday at Razorback Field. Arkansas will travel to Ole Miss on Sunday for the final match before postseason play. Both matches will be streamed live on SEC Network Plus.
