Three Razorbacks earn cross country All-Academic honors

NEW ORLEANS – Three members of the Arkansas men’s cross country team received All-Academic honors as announced Thursday by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Razorback trio included Ryan Murphy (Kinesiology Exercise Science), Myles Richter (Landscape Architecture) and Matt Young (Accounting).

“Myles, Matt and Ryan are a reflection of what they do for us in cross country and on the track,” said Arkansas men’s head coach Chris Bucknam. “They are really hard workers and dedicated in what they do. I’m just really proud of them for what they get done in the classroom.

“It’s a great representation of our program. They work equally as hard in their running and strike a great balance. They’re a great example for the rest of our program on how it’s done.”

To qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish among the top 25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships.
