Trip To Tennessee Begins Four Match Road Trip

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team will travel to Knoxville, Tennessee to face the No. 14 Volunteers on Friday in what will be the first of four-consecutive matches on the road.

The Razorbacks are scheduled to play Tennessee tomorrow at 1 p.m., and will play Tennessee Tech following the conclusion of that match. Arkansas will travel to 19th-ranked Georgia on Sunday.

The Hogs are led by 60th-ranked Oscar Mesquida who is 9-9 in dual match play. Enrique Paya continues to lead the Razorbacks in total wins, with 11 coming in dual matches, and 19 total on the season. Arkansas is coming off of a doubleheader last Sunday in which it fell to Mississippi State, before sweeping UAPB.

Tennessee is led by a pair of ranked players in singles, including 37th-ranked Timo Stodder in singles. In doubles the pair of Timo Stodder and Preston Touliatos come in ranked 16th. The Volunteers are winners of four straight, including three at home.

After picking up a win at home against Georgia last season, the Hogs will look to make it two years in a row this Sunday in Athens. 19th ranked Georgia is 10-8 on the year, but has taken three-consecutive matches. They are led by 15th-ranked Jan Zielinski, who leads a group of three ranked Bulldogs in singles. The Dogs also have the 21st ranked singles pair.

The Razorbacks are set to return Saturday April 13 for senior day against Auburn.
