FAYETTEVILLE — University of Arkansas volleyball players Catherine Fowler and Heather Royal are taking part in the 2007 Global Challenge volleyball tournament this week with matches in several cities throughout Europe. Fowler and Royal join other talented juniors from USA Volleyball’s top regions with tournament play consisting of 16 teams from seven countries. After a week of touring, training and scrimmaging in several cities, the teams come together for the opening ceremonies and tournament play in Pula, Croatia, this week. "This is a great opportunity for both players," said Arkansas head coach Chris Poole. "They will have the opportunity to get in a lot of court time and see some other styles of play. I’m sure both players will not only enjoy the travel but enjoy the learning experience as well." A sophomore from Conway, Ark., Fowler was a significant role player in the middle for the Lady Razorbacks last year.
