Volleyball Adds Alumna Maggie Cartwright to Coaching Staff

A familiar face will join Arkansas volleyball’s bench this fall as alumna Maggie Cartwright has joined the staff as an assistant coach.

Cartwright, an opposite hitter, was with the Hogs for five seasons from 2019-2023 and is in the program top 10 in sets (494) and matches (137) played. As one of the foundational talents to help take the Razorbacks back to the NCAA Tournament in her career, Cartwright also sits in the top five of the current scoring era (2008-present) in career kills (1,276), aces (108), total blocks (303) and block assists (280). Her 1,276 career kills make her one of just 19 Razorbacks to ever eclipse 1,000 kills and are the 12th-most of any player in program history.

Maggie’s final season in 2023 was her best at Arkansas, as she was named AVCA All-South Region Honorable Mention and came third on the team in hitting percentage (.280), kills (363), kills per set (2.86) and blocks (89). She helped pace the Hogs to their top finish in program history in the regional final of the 2023 NCAA tournament, after Arkansas won the opening two rounds at home and defeated Kentucky 3-2 in the Round of 16. Cartwright was named to the Lincoln Regional All-Tournament Team for her efforts in Arkansas’ stretch run.

After wrapping her collegiate career, Cartwright was chosen by the Omaha Supernovas in the inaugural Pro Volleyball Federation (now Major League Volleyball) Draft. She played in eight sets with 15 kills and was part of the Supernovas’ PVF championship winning squad, the first-ever for the league.

Maggie made her coaching debut at UTSA as an assistant in 2024, where she worked for one season before returning to professional volleyball. She spent the 2025-26 slate with Volley Lugano in the Swiss League, where she was one of the team’s top scorers throughout the season.

Cartwright joins former teammates and alumnae Hannah Hogue and Courtney Jackson on the staff. Hogue serves as an assistant coach, and Jackson is the team’s player personnel coordinator, both going into their second seasons on the bench.
