Volleyball Announces Spring Slate

The Arkansas Volleyhogs will get a preview of what’s to come this fall as the team readies for three weekends of spring competition.

“It’s been refreshing to have time during the spring semester to focus on development,” head coach Jason Watson said. “Many of our athletes have not had a traditional spring season in their careers. I’m thankful for this time and for the opportunity we have to compete a little this semester.”

The team kicks things off with an in-state match-up with UCA on Saturday, March 12th to take on the Sugar Bears in Conway. The Hogs then head to Kansas City for a one-day, multi-team tournament on April 9. The spring season is set to conclude on April 22 with a day trip to Missouri State, who Arkansas also played in the 2021 preseason.

“It’s a healthy competitive schedule,” Watson said. “Excited to open up at Central Arkansas and appreciate their willingness to host our team. It’s going to be fun to get to compete this weekend.”

Arkansas finished the 2021 schedule with a 20-11 record and went 10-8 in SEC play. The Razorbacks’ 19 wins in the regular season were the most since 2017, and the team went on its first postseason journey since 2013 with an appearance in the National Invitational Volleyball Championship. The Hogs defeated Stephen F. Austin 3-0 in round two and were swept by the eventual-tournament winners UNLV in the third round.
