Vols Up Next for Razorbacks in SEC Home Series

The Arkansas volleyball team continues a five-match homestand this weekend as the Hogs host the Tennessee Lady Volunteers on Friday, Oct. 14 and Saturday, Oct. 15.

Arkansas (11-5. 2-4) will be looking for its first win over Tennessee (10-8, 4-2) since the 2020-21 split season, and over the last 10 outings, the Razorbacks are 3-7 in the series. Last season, the Hogs took a set from the Vols in Knoxville in the series opener but fell 3-1 and were swept the following day.

Friday’s match is set for 7 p.m. at Barnhill Arena and Saturday’s finale will begin at 5 p.m. Both matches will be streamed live on SEC Network Plus.

Last Time Out
The Wildcats came to town last weekend and while the Hogs won the first set in each match, they came up short 3-1 and 3-2 in both contests with Kentucky. The defensive effort in the opening match was Arkansas’ best all year, as the Razorbacks tallied a season-high 17 team blocks, the most in a match since 2015. Graduate middle Tatum Shipes tallied two solos and 12 block assists for a new career high of 14, which ties for third in the Arkansas single-match metric, and the most blocks in a match for a Hog since 2005. On Saturday, the Hogs put up a strong fight in five sets, and despite the loss, junior Taylor Head hit an offensive milestone with 23 kills, a new career high. She also had a team-high 12 digs for a double-double and hit .395.
