Vrba Named First Team All-SEC
Following a standout sophomore campaign, Jakub Vrba was named First Team All-SEC, the conference announced today.
The honor is the first in Vrba’s career and the third in head coach Jay Udwadia’s tenure. Arkansas has now placed an athlete on the All-SEC lists in three straight seasons, the first three-peat for the program since the 2017-19 seasons.
Vrba compiled a 14-4 singles record this season and was 6-3 in the SEC, both team bests. He has been ranked in the top 20 all season, checking in as high as No. 18, a new career high.
He notched four ranked singles wins in 2026, three over top 50 opponents and one in the top 25. Vrba put together a 12-match win streak from Jan. 10 to March 13, nine of those victories were in two sets.
On the season, Vrba posted an 11-4 record at the No. 1 position and went an unblemished 3-0 at No. 2.
In doubles, Vrba posted a 10-9 record with partner Connor Smillie, and the two have been ranked as high as No. 28 on the season.
Jakub and the Razorbacks will learn their NCAA tournament fate during the NCAA Selection Show on Monday, April 27 at 3 p.m. CT. The show will be streamed live on NCAA.com.
