Women's Basketball Bounces Back Against Arkansas State
FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas women’s basketball rebounded from its loss on Thursday with a 76-60 win over Arkansas State to improve to 4-3 on the season on Sunday afternoon at Bud Walton Arena.
The Razorbacks entered the half trailing by three points before outscoring the Red Wolves 41-22 over the final 20 minutes to secure their 18th win against a team from The Natural State since the moratorium on playing in-state schools was lifted five years ago.
Sophomore forward/center Vera Ojenuwa led all scorers with a career-high 20 points while shooting an efficient 8-12 from the field. Ojenuwa also added 10 rebounds to record her second double-double of the season.
Izzy Higginbottom and Kiki Smith logged 15 points and five assists each for the Hogs as Higginbottom also grabbed a season-high eight boards. Jenna Lawrence stuffed the stat sheet with eight points and 10 rebounds in addition to career-highs in steals (three) and blocks (three).
Danika Galea and Carly Keats both contributed eight points as the Razorbacks ended the afternoon with six players with 8+ points. Karley Johnson notched a career-high three steals of her own along with seven rebounds and three assists. The team finished with season-highs in assists (16), steals (eight) and blocks (seven).

Arkansas will travel to Daytona Beach, Fla. for the Daytona Classic on Thursday and Friday next week. The Hogs will face Oklahoma State on Thursday and Bowling Green on Friday.
