Women's Golf Earns No. 1 Seed at NCAA Simpsonville Regional
FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas women’s golf is headed to NCAA regionals for the 23rd straight season. The Razorbacks will be the No. 1 seed at the Simpsonville Regional in Simpsonville, Kentucky.
The Hogs rank atop a field of 12 teams that will play at the University of Louisville Golf Club (Par 72) from May 11-13. The top 5 teams from the six regionals will advance to the NCAA Championship held at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, from May 22-27. Other regional sites include Stanford, California; Ann Arbor, Michigan; Waco, Texas; Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Tallahassee, Florida.
The Razorbacks earned a top seed for the second straight season and the third time in program history. The Hogs are making their 24th regional appearance and 23rd straight, dating back to 2003.
Arkansas finished runner-up at the Columbus Regional last season and went on to finish sixth at the NCAA Championship before losing to eventual champion Northwestern in the match play quarterfinals. Maria Jose Marin became the third Razorback to win the NCAA individual title with a 12-under 276, the third-lowest score to par by an NCAA champion in history.
