Women's Tennis Announces 2021-22 Schedule

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas women’s tennis team and head coach Cristina Sanchez-Quintanar announced the team’s 2021-22 schedule Thursday, opening fall competition this weekend at the UCA Invite on Sept. 17-19 in Conway, Ark.

“The schedule we have this season prepares the team to face challenges during the year,” Sanchez-Quintanar said. “The strength of the SEC always gives our players the best competition in the country, and we will be ready for it.”

Arkansas opens its 2021-22 season, competing in six fall tournaments. After the UCA Invite, the Hogs will head to Waco, Texas to compete in the Baylor Invite (Oct. 1-3). Sophomore Indianna Spink will make her first appearance at the ITA All-American Championships, competing in the qualifying draw on Oct. 4-10 in Charleston, S.C.

The fall campaign continues with the ITA Central Regional Championship in Iowa City, Iowa (Oct. 21-24) followed by the ITA Fall National Championships in San Diego, Calif. (Nov. 4-7). The Hogs close out the fall at the Texas A&M Fall Invitational (Nov. 12-14).

The Razorbacks open the spring semester competing in four-consecutive road events beginning on Jan. 22 in Little Rock, Ark against UCA, Austin Peay and Kansas City. Arkansas travels to Charlottesville, Va. to compete in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend on Jan. 28-29 against Stanford, Virginia and James Madison. The team stays on the road to face Kansas State (Feb. 4) and Kansas (Feb. 6) in dual matches.

The home season begins at the Billingsley Tennis Center on Feb. 19 with a double-header against Saint Louis and Arkansas State. The Hogs round-out the non-conference portion of the spring season with a dual-match against SMU in Dallas, Texas.

Arkansas then begins its 13-match SEC schedule, which features 12 ITA top-50 teams from last season, hosting Missouri (March 6). The Razorbacks will also host South Carolina (March 18), Florida (March 20), Tennessee (April 1), Georgia (April 3), Texas A&M (April 15) and LSU (April 17).  Road matches are scheduled at Vanderbilt (March 11), Kentucky (March 13), Auburn (March 25), Alabama (March 27), Mississippi State (April 8), and Ole Miss (April 10).

Florida will host the 2022 SEC Women’s Tennis Championships on April 20-24 at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex in Gainesville, Fla. Postseason action continues with 2022 NCAA Women’s Tennis Championships beginning on May 6-8 with first and second rounds at to be determined sites. NCAA Super Regionals will take place from May 13-15 at sites to be determined, followed by the NCAA Championships hosted by Illinois from May 19-28.
