Arkansas Softball Earns No. 5 National Seed In NCAA Tournament
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.– For the seventh time in program history and sixth year in a row, the Arkansas softball team and Bogle Park will host an NCAA Tournament Regional on May 15-17. The No. 5/9 ranked Razorbacks drew the No. 5 overall national seed, as announced Sunday evening. Washington, South Florida, and Fordham will join Arkansas at the Fayetteville Regional.
Arkansas will play Fordham at 4:30 p.m. CT on Friday on ESPN+. Washington and South Florida will clash at 7 p.m. on ESPNU following the Hogs’ and Rams’ matchup.

It’ll be the sixth consecutive season Arkansas has hosted a regional. All seven of the program’s national seeds have been accumulated under head coach Courtney Deifel. It also marks the program’s 15th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Arkansas holds a 4-0 all-time record against Fordham. The Razorbacks took the last matchup between the teams, 4-2 on Feb. 19, 2018, at the Mary Nutter Classic in Cathedral City, Calif.
Arkansas and Washington have met five times, with the Huskies holding a 5-0 series lead. The teams last met on Feb. 12, 2022, when Washington defeated Arkansas 10-5 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
The Razorbacks own a 1-4 record against South Florida. In the last matchup, on Feb. 18, 2012, South Florida defeated Arkansas, 7-6 in Tampa, Fla.
Arkansas finished the 2026 regular season with a 42-11 record and 15-9 mark in SEC play, with 21 wins coming by run-rule. The Razorbacks are coming off a 1-1 showing at the SEC Tournament last week, with a 3-0 win over No. 19 Mississippi State on Wednesday and a 7-1 loss against No. 3/4 Alabama on Thursday.
