Hogs Hit The Road For Texas A&M, LSU

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team will hit the road in conference action for the first time this season, with a match scheduled at Texas A&M on Friday, and in Baton Rouge against LSU on Sunday.

The matches will be the first of the season for the Hogs as a top-25 team, after jumping into the Oracle/ITA Top-25 this past week.

Last Time Out
The Hogs split its SEC matches last week, falling to Vanderbilt 4-3, before beating Kentucky 4-3 in its second match of the week. The Razorbacks come into the week with an 11-7 record, including a 2-2 record in conference action.

In The Rankings
The Razorbacks vaulted into the top-25 after splitting its matches against Vanderbilt and Kentucky last weekend, coming in at No. 25 after moving up 12 spots. Oscar Mesquida leads the Hogs, coming in at No. 52 in singles this week, up one spot from his previous No. 53 ranking.

Scouting Texas A&M
The Aggies come in at No. 9 in this week’s rankings with a 15-3 record, including 5-0 in conference play. A&M is led by four top-125 athletes in singles. Out ahead of that group is Valentin Vacherot, who comes in at No. 32. In Doubles play,Juan Carlos Aguilar and his partner Barnaby Smith come in at No. 23 nationally.

Scouting LSU
The Tigers come in with a 13-5 record, being 1-4 in league play. The Tigers dropped to No. 41 in the nation. The Tigers boast an 8-3 record in Baton Rouge this season.
