Hogs Venture West for MountainView Collegiate
FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas women’s golf will be back in action this weekend, as the Hogs are set to play at the MountainView Collegiate for the second consecutive year. Played at the MountainView Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona and hosted by Missouri and Kansas State, tournament play will begin Friday, March 17 and carry onto Sunday, March 19 for three rounds of golf.
Kajal Mistry won the individual medal, the first of her career, at the 2022 MountainView Collegiate. She logged a 10-under 206 (69-67-71), while Arkansas finished seventh out of 17 teams. Mistry’s 206 is the fourth best 54-hole score in the tournament’s 23-year history.
The MountainView Collegiate field consists of 17 teams. Coming in at No. 33 in the Golfstat rankings, Arkansas is one of 11 teams in the field that resides in the top 50, while San Jose State highlights the way with a No. 6 ranking.
The reigning MountainView Collegiate individual medalist in Mistry is leading off the Razorbacks in the No. 1 spot, occupying the top spot for the second consecutive tournament and fourth time this season. She ties for a team’s best seven rounds at par or under, while leading Arkansas in the past two tournaments, which is highlighted by an 8-under par (70-69-69) fifth-place showing at the Moon Golf Invitational. Mistry is coming off a tie for 49th at the Darius Rucker Intercollege, in which she finished 10-over par (77-72-74).
At the No. 2 spot, Miriam Ayora is set to play in her seventh tournament of the season, only one of two Hogs to play in all tournaments (with Mistry being the other). She leads Arkansas with a 72.89 scoring average and ties for a team’s best seven rounds at par/better. Her best tournament showing came at the competitive Jackson T. Stephens Cup in the fall, where Ayora logged a 3-under 213 (73-71-69) to finish in a tie for eighth. Ayora is coming off a tie for 58th at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, rounding out at 12-over par (79-73-73).
Kendall Todd is in the No. 3 spot and competing in her fifth tournament of the season. Todd has a 74.02 scoring average, which is the third best on the team, while her winning percentage is .694 (166-113). Consistent hole-to-hole, Todd’s best showing at Arkansas was at the Battle at the Beach, wrapping up the fall season at even-par (70-71-72) for a tie for 17th. The sophomore is coming off 63rd at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, having finished 13-over par (75-75-76).
Ela Anacona is back in the lineup and will play in the No. 4 spot. She is coming off her second appearance of the year at the Moon Golf Invitational, finishing +6 (73-72-77) for a tie for 62nd. As one of the veterans on the team, Anacona has played in 74 total rounds in her career and had a solid finish at last year’s MountainView Collegiate with a 1-under 215 (72-69-74) to tie for 25th.
Rounding out the lineup, Julia Gregg will play in the No. 5 spot. This marks Gregg’s first appearance in the spring, having played in three tournaments in the fall. Gregg finished the Blessings Collegiate in a tie for ninth after carding a +6 (79-73-74). Also a veteran on the team, Gregg enters tomorrow with 84 career rounds played and delivered a +1 (73-72-72) for 35th at last year’s MountainView Collegiate.
Meghan Royal will play as an individual. This marks Royal’s fifth appearance in a collegiate golf tournament. Her best showing during her freshman season came at the Moon Golf Invitational where she was even par each round to tie for 32nd. She is coming off +18 (76-78-77) at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate.
Arkansas finished the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in 17th place, concluding the challenging three rounds at the Long Cove Club with a 52-over 904 (307-297-300).

TOURNAMENT NOTES
Arkansas is making its second consecutive appearance at the MountainView Collegiate, third overall. The Razorbacks have had an individual medalist in both of its appearances, including from Mistry last season with her career-low 10-under 206. Emily Tubert won the event in 2011 with a 9-under 207 (68-72-67). Arkansas is one of five schools to have more than two individual medalists at the tournament. The tournament is hosted by Missouri and Kansas State.

Arkansas will wrap up the spring season in a familiar tournament, the Liz Murphey Collegiate, for its 27th appearance all-time in the tournament. Hosted by Georgia at the University of Georgia Golf Course, the tournament is set for Friday, March 24 to Sunday, March 26.
