Marin Selected as ANNIKA Award Finalist
FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas golfer Maria Jose Marin is one of 10 players nationally to be named a finalist for the ANNIKA Award.
Created in 2014, the award will be announced after the upcoming Division I Women’s National Championship and is awarded annually to the best player in Division I women’s golf. Voting will open on Friday, May 15th and end on Monday, May 25th after the completion of the stroke play portion of the NCAA Championship. Current Division I players, coaches, past ANNIKA Award winners, women’s golf SID’s, and select college golf media members are eligible to vote for the ANNIKA Award.
Marin has finished in the top 10 in 10 of 11 tournaments this season, including two runner-up outings and a win at the Clemson Invitational in March.
The Cali, Colombia native is ranked No. 3 in the Scoreboard by Clippd national player rankings and spent much of her junior season in the top spot. She leads the Razorbacks with a 70.0 stroke average this season and recently became the program’s record holder in career rounds at or below par with 68.
Earlier this year, Marin won the 2026 Augusta National Women’s Amateur with a record-low score of 14-under par among 75 of the world’s top female amateur golfers. The victory secured exemptions for Marin to the 2026 U.S. Women’s Open, the 2026 Evian Championship and the 2026 Women’s Open. Marin was the first Razorback, first SEC golfer and first South American to win ANWA.
Arkansas is ranked seventh in the country and punched its ticket to the NCAA Championship at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, earlier this week. The first round begins on Friday, May 22.
Marin is a two-time finalist for the award, having made the final 10 in 2025.
