No. 7/10 Razorbacks Fall to No. 5/7 Longhorns, 4-1 in Regular Season Finale
AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 7/10 Arkansas Razorbacks dropped their regular season finale at the No. 5/7 Texas Longhorns, 4-1 on Sunday afternoon at McCombs Field.
Arkansas finished the 2026 regular season, 41-10 overall and 15-9 in SEC play, while winning six of its eight SEC regular-season series.
Karlie Davison opened the scoring with a solo home run to left field in the top of the second inning. Texas then took the lead in the bottom of the second on a two-run home run from Hannah Wells before adding two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning courtesy of an Arkansas fielding error and an infield single from Leighanne Goode.
In addition to Davison’s home run, Tianna Bell doubled off the wall in right field while Atalyia Rijo and Reagan Johnson both registered singles in the loss.
Robyn Herron took the loss for Arkansas, finishing with a 15-5 record on the season. She allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks during her four innings in the circle. Saylor Timmerman pitched two innings of relief, allowing one earned run on four hits and a walk with a strikeout.
Teagan Kavan went the distance for Texas while improving to 20-4 on the season. She struck out 10 batters while allowing four hits and a walk in seven innings of work.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams turned to their aces in the finale as Arkansas gave the ball to Robyn Herron and Texas went with Teagan Kavan.
Arkansas was sent down in order during the top of the first inning courtesy of a groundout, a flyout, and a groundout. Texas first baseman Katie Stewart became the first baserunner of the game after drawing a one-out walk in the home half of the first inning.
With two outs in the top of the second inning, Karlie Davison put Arkansas in front with a solo home run to left field, her eighth of the season.
Hannah Wells gave the Longhorns a one-run lead courtesy of a two-run home run to left field with no outs in the bottom of the second inning. Leighanne Goode scored on the round tripper from Wells after reaching on an error.
Both sides were sent down in order in the third inning. Herron recorded a pair of strikeouts in the bottom of the third.
With two outs in the top of the fourth inning, Tianna Bell just missed a home run, hooking it foul by a few feet before doubling off the wall in right field. Herron retired the Longhorns in order in the bottom of the fourth while picking up her sixth strikeout of the day to end the frame.
Atalyia Rijo singled up the middle with one out in the top of the fifth inning. Texas added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 4-1 lead, courtesy of an error and an infield single from Leighanne Goode.
Reagan Johnson singled in the top of the sixth inning and advanced to second on a walk from Tianna Bell, but that was all the Hogs would muster in the frame. Timmerman pitched a scoreless bottom of the sixth inning, allowing only a walk while picking up a strikeout.
Kavan closed out the victory by tossing a 1-2-3 bottom of the seventh, capped with a strikeout.
NOTABLES
- Arkansas finished the regular season with a 41-10 record while going 15-8 in SEC play. The Hogs’ 15 league wins were the most in a season since going 19-5 in 2022.
- Karlie Davison collected her eighth home run of the season.

Arkansas will be back in action next week at the SEC Tournament. The Razorbacks will be the seventh seed in the tournament. Game time and opponent have not been announced yet.
