Razorbacks Set To Finish Regular Season at LSU Tiger Classic

BATON ROUGE, La. – No. 16 Arkansas Women’s Golf is headed to the LSU Tiger Golf Classic (April 6-7), where Head Coach Shauna Taylor’s Hogs will close out the regular season. The Hogs will face another loaded field, comprised mostly of SEC teams, including No.5 Florida State, No. 10 Georgia, and host, No. 4 LSU. The 54-hole event, which will be held at The University Club, will be played over two days, with 36 holes played on Tuesday and the final 18 being played on Wednesday.

Brooke Matthews leads the Hogs into Baton Rouge, as she will once again play from the No. 1 spot in the Hog lineup. Matthews is fresh off a top-25 finish at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, taking part in the second iteration of the event, which displays the best women’s amateurs in the world. She shot a 226 (+10), including a final round 77 at Augusta National.

Sophomore Julia Gregg will play from the second spot in the lineup in the regular season finale. Gregg is coming off one of her better performances of the season at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. In the event, Gregg finished at six-over, which was good enough for a share of 14th place. It marked her second top-15 finish of the season.

Fellow sophomore Ela Anacona will tee it up in the third spot in Baton Rouge. Anacona was right behind Gregg at the Liz Murphey, finishing at seven-over, good for a share of 16th place. For Anacona, her 223 at that event was her second best 54-hole score of the season, and her 16th place finish was the best of the 2020-21 campaign for her so far.

In the fourth spot for the Hogs is Kajal Mistry, who like Anacona, finished the Liz Murphey tied for 16th place at seven-over. Of the six events she has played in this season, Mistry has finished in the top-20 in three of them.

Freshman Cory Lopez holds down the last spot in the traveling party. This will be her eighth straight event played, as the freshman has held down her spot in the lineup throughout her first regular season on the roster. Lopez was nine-over at the Liz Murphey, which was good for a share of 26th place.
