The Odds are in the Hogs Favor
Arkansas’s four opponents are combined for 6-11 against the Razorbacks, with NSU holding all six wins. The Arkansas-NSU series is the oldest of the four, dating back to 1998. No Wooo Pig Classic opponent has defeated the Hogs since 2005, since then – Arkansas has outscored the four teams, 44-14.
10 Years at Bogle
The 2019 season marks the 10th season in Bogle Park – since its opening, the Hogs have played 251 games inside the park, for a combined 132-113 record.
New Face in the Crowd
Junior transfer Lauren Graves made her first appearance as a Hog on Saturday (Feb. 23) against SIUE. She transferred to Arkansas after two years at Maryland. Graves tagged in again on Sunday (Feb. 24) against IUPUI and has since recorded two Ks in three innings pitched, while giving up no earned runs.
In the Polls
The Razorbacks dropped but remain in the top 15 after finishing with a 4-2 record at the Razorback Invitational. Arkansas dropped to #14 in both the USA Today/NFCA Polls and the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll in Week 3, coming in at #18 in the Softball America poll.
History Made
Sophomore Danielle Gibson made history on Saturday night (Feb. 23) when she rocketed four home runs in Bogle Park in the 15-3 win over SIUE. The four home runs tie an NCAA record reached only five times before, but what makes Gibson special is that she hit for the home run cycle – done only twice before EVER, and in only four innings… a feat special to Gibson alone.
Gibson Rakes in Awards with Stellar Weekend
Gibson’s record-breaking weekend brought more than recognition, it also came with USA Softball Co-Player of the Week, SEC Co-Player of the Week, and NCAA Play of the Week. The USA Softball award is the first for Arkansas since 2017.
