3 Razorback Men's Golfers, 2 Countries, 1 Event

FAYETTEVILLE – Three Razorbacks from the men’s golf team will represent their respective home countries in the 11th annual Spirit International Amateur Golf Championship, presented by The Will Erwin Headache Research Foundation. The event will take place Nov. 4-6 in Trinity, Texas, at Whispering Pines Golf Club.

The Arkansas men’s program will be represented by Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira (Argentina), Segundo Oliva Pinto (Argentina) and Juan Camilo Vesga (Colombia). The Razorback women’s program will be represented as well with Ela Anacona (Argentina), Cory Lopez (Mexico) and Stacy Lewis (captain of Team USA).

Fernandez de Oliveira, Anacona and Lopez will be making their second appearance at the event as each played in the last Spirit International Amateur Golf Championship (2019).

The 2021 Spirit International Amateur Golf Championship brings together the best amateur golfers from 20 countries and four continents for three days of competition. Two female and two male amateurs from each country will play for a chance at gold in five concurrent competitions.

There will be champions awarded for men’s individual, women’s individual, men’s team (best ball), women’s team (best ball) and combined team (combined best ball).

The championship will be available via livestream during competition on www.GolfChannel.com, the NBC Sports app and on www.TheSpiritGolf.com. GOLF Channel will present the highlight show in primetime, from 6-8 pm CT on Dec. 9, followed by an encore presentation on Dec. 11 from 3-5 pm CT.
