#4 Arkansas Leads After 36 Holes at All-American Intercollegiate

HUMBLE, Texas – Competing in near unplayable conditions – cold and strong winds – day one (two rounds) of the All-American Intercollegiate saw high scores across the board with #4 Arkansas leading the way with a 21-over-par 597 (298-299). The team tournament is being played on the par-72 Tournament Course at the Golf Club of Houston.

Eastern Michigan (+23) and Tarleton State (+25) are the only schools in the 16-team field within striking distance of the Razorbacks. Tarleton State’s Alvaro Pastor was the only player to break par through 36 holes, shooting a 5-over 77 in the morning and a 6-under 66 in the afternoon for a 1-under 143.

All five Razorbacks are among the top 20, including three inside the top five.

Thomas Curry is tied for third (+5), one shot behind second and six shots behind Pastor. Gerardo Gomez and John Daly II are tied for fifth (+6).

Erich Fortlage, ranked #18 in the NCAA, was even after round one but shot 80 in round two to sit in a tie for 13th (+8). Cam Smith is 10over and tied for 19th.

Also being played on the property, on the Member’s Course, is a separate event, the All-American Individual. Razorback junior Niilo Maki-Petaja is in third (+2) after rounds of 72-74 and one shot out of first. Willie Gordon is tied for 15th (+16).

The final 18 holes for both events will be played on Tuesday.
