43 Razorbacks on the Chancellor's List
FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas Athletic Department had 43 Razorback student-athletes named to the Chancellor’s List for their success in the classroom for the fall academic semester the Athletic Department announced today.
The Razorbacks had 43 student-athletes named to the Chancellor’s List and 210 who were honored on the Athletic Department Honor Roll last week.
"We are extremely proud that more than 40 Razorback student-athletes are among the top scholars recognized by Chancellor Gearhart at the University of Arkansas," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long. "These young men and women have excelled in the classroom while succeeding with their respective teams in the nation’s most competitive athletic conference. Congratulations to these outstanding student-athletes on their many accomplishments."
This semester, 12 of the Razorbacks’ 15 teams maintained or improved their team GPA’s. In addition, Arkansas had 10 teams with a 3.0 or above. The 43 selections to the Chancellor’s List is the most in the history of the list.
This semester’s Chancellor’s List honors Razorback students who earn a 4.00 grade point average. Students must also have at least 12 semester hours to be eligible. In addition to the university list, each college submits a list which might also recognize students who are in the top percentage within that college.
Arkansas’ soccer team, under the direction of head coach Erin Aubry, had nine selections to the Chancellor’s List. The women’s track and field/cross country team and head coach Lance Harter had eight selections while Chris Bucknam and the men’s track and field/cross country team had seven Chancellor’s List members.
