#6 Razorbacks Face Stiff Competition at Watersound Invitational
FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas will look to continue its streak of top 3 finishes this weekend at the Watersound Invitational, played at the 7,202-yard, par 72 Shark’s Tooth Golf Course at Watersound Club in Panama City Beach, Fla.
In five events this season, Arkansas has two wins, a runner-up and two third-place finishes to rank 6th in the latest Golfstat poll.
The task will be tough as 11 of the 14 teams are ranked among the nation’s top 40. Hosted by #35 Florida State, the field includes top 20 teams North Carolina (#4), Wake Forest (#12), Notre Dame (#15) and Georgia Tech (#17). Individually, the field includes #4 Palmer Jackson (Notre Dame), #7 Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira (Arkansas), #17 Ryan Gerard (North Carolina), #18 Michael Brennan (Wake Forest) and #20 David Ford (North Carolina). Also in the field is Wake Forest senior Alex Fitzpatrick, who ranks #5 on the current PGA University standings.
