Academic All-District Honors for Nastassja Campbell, Lauren Gregory

FAYETTEVILLE – A pair of Razorbacks earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors for the 2021-22 season. Nastassja Campbell and Lauren Gregory were among 10 selections in District 6 who received the accolade.

The 2021‐22 Academic All‐District® Women’s Track & Field / Cross Country Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student‐athletes for their combined performances in the competition realm and in the classroom.

First‐team Academic All‐District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All‐America® ballot. First‐, second‐ and third‐team Academic All‐America® honorees will be announced in mid‐June.

Last year Campbell also collected All-America second team accolades after earning All-District honors. She joined previous Razorbacks who have earned a total of 41 CoSIDA Academic All-America honors by 29 student-athletes in the Arkansas women’s program.

This season Campbell, a Communication major, placed eighth in the pole vault at the NCAA Indoor Championships, earning a first-team All-America honor, after finishing in the bronze medal position at the SEC Indoor Championships.

A torn bicep during the indoor national championship competition has prevented her from competing outdoors. She produced a season best of 14-7.25 (4.45) to win the Red Raider Open in Lubbock.

Gregory’s season included being part of a collegiate record in the 4 x 1500 relay to win the Penn Relays title in 16:53.87. Gregory, majoring in Biological Engineering, has collected three individual All-America honors this season with one in cross country, where she placed 19th, and two at NCAA Indoors, placing third in the 3,000m (8:59.50) and fourth in the 5,000m (15:32.95).

In her debut at 10,000m, Gregory won the Stanford Invitational set the collegiate leading time at that point of the season with a 32:34.21. Gregory just missed breaking the Arkansas record in the 5,000m by 0.07 with a 15:25.17 at the Mt. SAC Relays.

LSU’s Lisa Gunnarsson was another Academic All-District selection within District 6, which includes 11 states. Other SEC selections in District 4 included Claire Bryant (Florida), Ashley Carter (Auburn), Joyce Kimeli (Auburn), Madi Malone (Auburn), and Shelby Tyler (Georgia).
