Affiliate added to baseball radio lineup

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas Athletic Department and Razorback Sports Properties has added an affiliate to the lineup of the Razorback Sports Network from ISP for the 2010 baseball season. Residents of Glenwood, Ark., can now tune in to Arkansas baseball broadcasts on KWXI 98.9 FM and 670 AM. The addition of KWXI increases the network to 19 stations across the state.

Most affiliates will carry from 25-40 games, including most Southeastern Conference contests. Fans need to check their local listings for games broadcast on their local affiliates.

All radio broadcasts can also be heard on the internet at ArkansasRazorbacks.com through RazorVision. RazorVision is a subscription service of ArkansasRazorbacks.com. Fans can join for $9.95 per month or $99.95 annually. RazorVision offers audio broadcasts of all games, live video of most home games, home game replays, weekly practice reports, and post-game press conferences with Coach Dave Van Horn and players.

Chuck Barrett and Rick Schaeffer once again call all the play-by-play action for all 56 regular season games and all postseason action. Barrett is entering his 19th season of calling Razorback Baseball action. Schaeffer is in his 10th season, having worked in 1995 and then rejoining the network in 2001. All broadcasts begin with the Dugout Show starting 20 minutes prior to every game.

With a 12-3 record through the first 15 games this season, the Razorbacks are ranked as high as No. 13, by Baseball America, in this week’s ranking releases. Arkansas heads to Baton Rouge, La., this weekend for the beginning of SEC play at defending national champion LSU. Friday’s conference opener is scheduled for a 7 p.m. first pitch from Alex Box Stadium. Saturday’s and Sunday’s games are set for 3 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
