Allison selected to SEC Good Works Team

FAYETTEVILLE — The Southeastern Conference selected University of Arkansas junior middle blocker Amy Allison to the Volleyball Good Works Team it was announced today. "Amy takes a lot of interest in the community," said Arkansas head coach Chris Poole. "She is heavily involved in AAO (Arkansas Athletes Outreach) and has traveled to other countries to assist in community efforts. She is a wonderful role model for our program and our University" Allison was one of 11 athletes selected to this year’s SEC Good Works team and brings an impressive resume of community service to the table. Some of her recent activities include a mission trip to Mexico with the River Oaks Christian Church. She worked with underprivileged young with the Boys and Girls Club and participated in the Adopt-A-Family program. In addition, she has volunteered her time at the Battered Woman’s Shelter and helped to feed over 200 families at a local youth center in Fayetteville. She attended the Conference of Champions and is a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee at Arkansas. A Jenks, Okla., native, Allison leads the Lady Razorbacks into SEC Tournament action this weekend as Arkansas takes on Kentucky in first round action Friday at noon.
