Razorback Notes
Arkansas put together a 3-0 weekend against Eastern Illinois to begin the 2020 season … Second consecutive year to sweep the Panthers … Improved to 32-2 all-time against Eastern Illinois, with all 34 games played in Fayetteville … Outscored the Panthers 27-5, allowing fewer runs last season after holding a 30-12 run advantage in last year’s games … Heston Kjerstad (Co-Player) and Connor Noland (Pitcher) earned the first SEC weekly honors of the season … First time Arkansas has earned both player & pitcher of the week honors from the conference in the same season in program history … Kjerstad was also named one of Collegiate Baseball Newspaper’s National Players of the Week … Team recorded double-digit run totals in two of the first three games of the year for the third consecutive season … Connor Noland and Patrick Wicklander both came away from the weekend unscathed in the earned run department … Arkansas’ pitching staff recorded 31 total strikeouts against Eastern Illinois, while the hitters tallied 35 hits … Arkansas holds a .324 clip at the plate through week 1, while Eastern Illinois finished at .206 … The Razorbacks host Gonzaga on Thursday-Sunday, Feb. 20-23, at Baum-Walker Stadium.
