Arkansas Heads Into Postseason As National Power

NEW ORLEANS – Fresh off its dominant runner-up showing at Pre-Nationals, Arkansas’ men’s cross country team heads into the postseason as one of the five best programs in the country at No. 5 in the latest USTFCCCA polls, announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Recognized as a team to watch early on during the regular season, the Razorbacks upheld that reputation, picking up momentum as the year advanced with individual and team top finishes in Boston, Fayetteville, Arkansas and Terre Haute, Indiana.

Arkansas has now been a top eight nationally-ranked team for six straight weeks (including preseason rankings) and a top-five program through the last three polls.

The Razorbacks remain the highest nationally-ranked program in the Southeastern Conference and hold the top spot among South Central Region teams.

The talented squad will next race on their home course of Agri Park on Friday, Oct. 28 when they host the 2016 SEC Cross Country Championship at 10 a.m. CT.

Admission is free to fans of all ages.
