
Arkansas Heads to No. 10 LSU, No. 32 Ole Miss
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas women’s tennis team (4-14, 1-10) heads on the road for the final time this season to play at No. 10 LSU (18-4, 8-3) on Friday, April 4 at 5 p.m. and at No. 32 Ole Miss (12-9, 4-7) on Sunday, April 6 at 1 p.m.
The Razorbacks dropped their two matches this past weekend, falling to No. 31 Florida on the road and No. 8 Auburn at home. In the match against the Gators, Jimena Gomez earned her third singles victory of the season. Grace O’Donnell secured the only point of the match against Auburn, defeating No. 36 Merna Refaat, collecting her first ranked win of the spring.
The No. 10 Tigers are coming off an 1-1 weekend, dropping their match to No. 16 Vanderbilt and beating Missouri. Freshman Tilwith Di Girolami leads LSU with 14 singles victories while primarily playing at the No. 3 position this year. The Tigers’ lineup also features freshman Cadence Brace, who has accumulated eight wins at the No. 1 position so far, and Kayla Cross who has obtained nine dual victories this season. Di Girolami and Anita Sahdiieva share the team lead with 13 doubles wins this spring.
The No. 32 Rebels are 12-9 overall and 4-7 in SEC play after a loss to No. 16 Vanderbilt and wins over Missouri and Central Arkansas last week. Ole Miss will host No. 8 Oklahoma on Friday before its match against the Hogs on Sunday. The Rebels’ lineup is headlined by Emily Welker and Ludmila Kareisova on courts one and two, respectively. Ole Miss also features Lucie Petruzelova, who has the second most dual singles wins this year with eight. The duo of No. 28 Kareisova and Anaelle Leclerqc-Fisher have grabbed 11 victories in doubles play.
