FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas will play the first of its final two home games on Saturday (Mar. 2) when the Razorbacks host Ole Miss as the University celebrates the 25th anniversary of the 1994 National Championship. Tip-off versus the Rebels is set for Noon.

This will be the 81st meeting between Arkansas and Ole Miss — and the second this season. The Razorbacks own a 47-33 advantage in the series, including a 15-11 cushion in games played in Fayetteville. Earlier this season, then #18 Ole Miss defeated Arkansas in Oxford, Miss., to snap a four-game losing streak to the Razorbacks.

Other than Texas A&M, who Arkansas faced as members of the Southwest Conference from 1924-91, Ole Miss is Arkansas’ most common SEC opponent. The teams’ long history includes 25 of the first 28 meetings being played at neutral sites such as Memphis, Tenn., Shreveport, La., Little Rock, Pine Bluff and Blytheville.

During halftime, the University will honor the 1994 National Championship team. The ’94 Razorbacks posted a 31-3 record, were SEC Champions, spent nine weeks as the nation’s #1 team and was ranked among the top 6 all season.

NOTES

  • Arkansas ranks 17th in the NCAA by forcing 16.61 turnovers per game and ranks second in the SEC by forcing 465 turnovers this season.
  • On the flip side, the Razorbacks rank third in the SEC in turnover margin at +3.0 and second in the SEC in assist-to-turnover ratio (+1.2).
  • Isaiah Joe has already set two school records, is on pace for a third school record, is threatening an SEC record and could have one of the top freshman seasons in NCAA history.
  • Joe owns the school record for 3-pointers made in a season with 98. By making five 3-pointers at Kentucky, he has made 52 treys versus SEC competition, tying a school record for most 3’s in SEC games.
  • Joe now ranks third on the school’s single-season list with Pat Bradley, who made 98 in 1997. With four guaranteed games left, he is on pace to make 112 3-pointers, which would rank fifth-most by a freshman in NCAA history and one sh of the SEC record by a freshman.
  • Arkansas will close the regular season by playing at Vanderbilt next Wednesday (Mar. 6) and by hosting Alabama for the regular-season finale on Saturday (Mar. 9).
