Arkansas Invitational starts Razorbacks 2025 home schedule
FAYETTEVILLE – The Razorbacks begin the 2025 indoor season hosting the Arkansas Invitational on Friday, Jan. 17, at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
Oklahoma State, Texas, and Tulsa are among visiting teams that include Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Central Arkansas, Coffeyville CC, John Brown, Little Rock, North Texas, Oklahoma City, and Oral Roberts.
“Overall, it’s an early meet for us and we’re trying to see where we are, just like everybody else,” noted Arkansas men’s associate head coach Doug Case. “We run a lot of different events at this meet like the 300m, 600m, and 1000m. We have a lot of our guys in off events just training through, making sure we’re ok and trying not be too overzealous right now.
“We have 30 new guys on the team this season, so it’s going to be a bit of a surprise to the coaching staff as well as we figure out where these guys belong in certain events in some cases and see what their competitive attitude is like. Even though it’s early for us, any time you have good competition it brings out the best in the good guys, in particular.”
Live streaming of the meet will be available on SEC Network + (https://tinyurl.com/2mm8pfat) starting at 2 p.m. (CT) while live results are available on flashresults.com (https://tinyurl.com/3mamejty). Field events begin at noon while running prelim events start at 12:45 p.m. and finals at 2 p.m.
Returning Razorbacks head into this season as defending SEC Champions and NCAA runner-up. They are joined by numerous newcomers in the form of transfers and freshmen.
One transfer, Rivaldo Marshall, is the defending NCAA Indoor champion in the 800m. The Jamaica native, who also won national 800m titles on the junior college level in addition to his 2024 NCAA title while with Iowa, will make his Razorback debut in the 600m.
“He is a very hard worker and very talented,” noted Case of Marshall, who received votes on the 2025 Bowerman preseason watch list. “I hope he can have a good season like I think he can. If he does, he’ll be in the race for that award.”
Teammates joining Marshall in the 600m include TJ Tomlyanovich, Brandon Battle, Jadon Bartholomew, and Wyatt Green. The top time produced at the Tyson Center is 1:15.18 set by Razorback Chris Bailey in 2023.
The 60m entries include eight Razorbacks with Kevin Bello, Jariad Hughes, Connor Washington, and Tevijon Williams lining up in the same prelim heat. Steven McElroy will race in 60m and 200m with Jaden Smith in the 200m as well. The 300m features Arkansas alum Lance Lang.
Racing in the final heat of the mile are Razorbacks Reuben Reina and Brian Masai along with alum Austen Dalquist. The mile also has Tommy Romanow, Timothy Chesondin, and Kirami Yego in an earlier heat. The fast heat of the 1,000m includes Ben Shearer and Elias Schreml.
Doubling up in the 800m are Reina, Shearer and Schreml. Dalquist is also entered in the 3,000m with Yego , Masai, and Chesondin.
Arkansas’ multi-event group will contest a handful of events during the meet. The crew includes Jaxon Bair, Gabriel Emmanuel, Jack Turner, and Cooper Williams. They will all race in the 60m hurdles along with Brevin Sims and Karamoko Sacko.
