Arkansas No. 8 in USTFCCCA Preseason Rankings

NEW ORLEANS, LA — The women of Arkansas checked in at No. 8 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Preseason National Coaches Poll, announced Tuesday afternoon

Arkansas leads the way among the two Southeastern Conference teams featured in the preseason poll, with Ole Miss squeezing in the top-20 at No. 15.

The Razorbacks return five All-SEC performers in Taylor Werner, Carina Viljoen, Lauren Gregory, Maddy Reed, and 2018 SEC Freshman of the Year Katrina Robinson

Arkansas finished first at the 2018 SEC Championships and the 2018 NCAA South Central Region Championship, with a 14th place finish at the NCAA Championships.

The 2019 cross country season beings Saturday as reigning SEC Coach of the Year Lance Harter and the Razorbacks travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma to compete at the Hurricane Invitational. The 2019 SEC Cross Country Championships are slated to take place Friday, Nov. 1 in Lexington, Ky.

Arkansas was ranked first in two polls released Monday, the Division I Preseason Regional Rankings (South Central) and the Southeastern Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. In the SEC poll, Arkansas was projected to finish first at the 2019 SEC Championships by its league coaches.
