Arkansas No. 9 in national coaches’ poll

NEW ORLEANS – The second national coaches’ cross country poll of the 2022 season has Arkansas still in the No. 9 position as they head into a loaded field at the Oklahoma State Jamboree on Saturday.

The Razorbacks are the top SEC school in the national poll with Alabama No. 10, Ole Miss at No. 17, and Kentucky equal No. 29. In the NCAA South Central Region poll, Arkansas holds the No. 1 position over Texas, Texas A&M, SMU and LSU.

The Razorbacks race in the Oklahoma State Jamboree on Saturday at 7:45 a.m. over a 6,000m course. The field includes six of the top 10 nationally ranked teams along with 13 of the top 30.

Top 10 nationally ranked teams competing in Stillwater include equal No. 3 Colorado and Oklahoma State, No. 5 Stanford, No. 6 Washington, No. 7 BYU, and No. 9 Arkansas.

Schools ranked in the top 30 who are scheduled to race in the Jamboree include No. 12 Michigan, No. 17 Ole Miss, No. 20 Harvard, No. 21 Gonzaga, No. 22 Northern Arizona, No. 27 Utah Valley, and equal No. 29 Kentucky.

Arkansas will race on its home course at Agri Park on Friday, September 30, with a start time of 4:30 p.m. in the Chile Pepper Festival.
