Arkansas Set For Third Fall Tournament

Live Scoring

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s golf team returns to the course on Monday after a three week break, traveling to Alabama to compete in the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate for the fourth consecutive season.

The 54-hole event will be played at the Tom Fazio & Jerry Pate designed Old Overton Country Club, a par 70, 7,209-yard layout that was voted “Best New Private Course” in America by Golf Digest in 1994. Teams will play 36 holes on Monday, Oct. 3, before coming back for the final round on Tuesday, Oct. 4. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com or via the Golfstat Live app.

The 12-team field features four schools from the Southeastern Conference, four programs ranked in the Bushnell Golfweek Top 25 Poll and three more teams receiving votes in the national ranking.

Arkansas has finished fifth in the event in back-to-back years, while the tournament host Crimson Tide has captured the championship each of the last four seasons.

Alvaro Ortiz tops the Arkansas lineup and has paced the Razorbacks through the first two events of the year with a 70.3 stroke average, a runner-up finish and five of his six rounds under par. He opened the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate last fall with a 5-under 65 to take the early lead, before leading the Razorbacks with a T-11th finish at 1-under for the championship.

Sophomore Charles Kim will start in the No. 3 position, leaving the remaining three spots for freshmen. Dyland Naidoo will tee off in the No. 2 position, followed by fellow rookies Luis Garza at No. 4 and Mason Overstreet at No. 5.
