Arkansas Slips One to 7th at Linger Longer
EATONTON, Ga. – Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira shot a second-round, 1-under-par 71 and climbed 33 spots on the leaderboard but #44 Arkansas was +11 as a team and slipped one spot at the Linger Longer Invitational. The Razorbacks have a two-day total of 593 (+17) and are in seventh among the 16-team field.
Only three teams broke par on day two including first-round, co-leader #20 Alabama, which came in at -1. The Crimson Tide are -6 for 36 holes and leads #34 Georgia, which shot even par on the day, by one stroke. Top-ranked Vanderbilt also broke par, carding a 2-under-par round Monday, and is third at (-4). #11 Georgia Tech was the third team under par at -3 and the Yellow Jackets moved up one spot to third at +1 for two rounds.
Fernandez de Oliveira overcame his three bogeys with four birdies and 11 pars to shoot a 1-under-par 71. As mentioned, he moved 33 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for 22nd (76-71=147 / +3). Also tied for 22nd is Julian Perico, who posted also had four birdies but carded a 75.
Segundo Oliva Pinto is tied for 32nd (71-77=148 / +4). Wil Gibson (T454) and Manuel Lozada (T63) round out the Razorback fivesome.
The third and final round is set for Tuesday.
