The Razorbacks (1-2-0) picked up their first win of the season and improved to 9-4-0 at home against ranked opponents since 2016. Arkansas has put together a 23-3-2 record at home since 2018.
How it Happened
>> In the fourth-minute, the Razorbacks were awarded an indirect free kick at the top of the six. Jessica De Filippo laid it off to Podojil who finished the ball through the BYU wall. The goal gave Arkansas a 1-0 lead early in the first half.
>> In the 54th-minute, Goins and Podojil linked up for a second goal after Goins played Podojil behind the BYU defensive line. The junior then tapped it around the Cougar defender and volleyed it over the goalie for her second goal of the game.
Hear It From Coach Hale
“It was a good night; the crowd was amazing! The players executed the game plan and played hard. It was a well-deserved result. No one has played the schedule to open up the season we have. We are tested and we know it will pay dividends in the end. I’m very proud of the team.”
