FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – After returning to the NCAA Tournament with one of the youngest teams in the nation last season, the Arkansas men’s golf team will face another loaded schedule in 2017-18, playing 11 regular season events against the best competition in the country.

A familiar slate will feature nine return trips to tournaments from a season ago, including the season-opening West Coast trip on Sept. 1-3 for the Carmel Cup at historic Pebble Beach.

Arkansas also returns to the SunTrust Gator Invitational looking to defend its team title from last spring. The Razorbacks led wire-to-wire in Gainesville and knocked off seven nationally ranked teams, including No. 2 Florida on its home course. The 2018 version of the Gator Invite will take place on Feb. 17-18 at Mark Bostick Golf Club.

The additions to the schedule come in the fall portion, as Arkansas travels to Cincinnati’s Bearcat Invitational on Sept. 25-26 and head to Dallas on Oct. 23-24 for the Royal Lakes Intercollegiate hosted by Baylor.

The 2018 SEC Championship returns to Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia, for the ninth consecutive year on April 25-29. The Razorbacks posted the second-lowest team round in program history last year during the final round of the SEC Championship, entering the conference record books for the third lowest round in the history of the league championship.

NCAA Regionals is scheduled for May 14-16 at six venues around the country, while the 2018 NCAA Championship will take place on May 24-29 at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Arkansas returns every player from last year’s squad that featured four rookie’s in the lineup and the No. 1 freshman class in the country. Freshman Mason Overstreet advanced to the NCAA Championship as an individual and took full advantage of the national stage, posting the second-best Razorback finish in program history with a runner-up performance.

Head coach Brad McMakin enters his 12th year at the helm of the program in 2017-18, leading Arkansas to 10 straight NCAA Regionals and five NCAA Championship appearances.

McMakin has guided the Razorbacks to 24 team titles, including 19 in the last seven years. Arkansas has won at least one tournament in all 11 seasons since McMakin was named the head coach, and the Razorbacks won multiple team titles last year for the fifth time in the last seven seasons.
