Arkansas Women’s Tennis Falls to Tennessee

The Razorbacks (10-5, 1-4) fell to No. 7 Tennessee (8-2, 4-1) on the road in Knoxville.

The Hogs took one of the doubles matches, but the Vols got the doubles point, winning 2 of the 3. No. ‘22 Carolina Gomez and Anet Koskel took down Francesca Mattioli and Vanesa Suarez, 6-4. Brooke Schafer and Jimena Gomez fell to Katrina Scott and Catherine Aulia, 7-5. Arina Babenko and Alex Panagiotidou fell to Maeve Thornton and Leyla Britez Risso, 6-2.

During singles, the Vols took three matches to take the win. No. 23 Carolina Gomez fell to Katrina Scott, 6-0, 6-3. Brooke Schafer fell to Vanesa Suarez, 6-1, 6-0. Anet Koskel fell to No. 20 Leyla Britez Risso, 6-1, 6-0.

The Razorbacks return to action against LSU next Friday in Fayetteville at Billingsley Tennis Center, the match is slated to start at 6:00 p.m.
