Arkansas Women’s Tennis Takes Down Kentucky for First SEC Win
The Razorbacks (10-4, 1-3) took down Kentucky (8-5, 0-4) on the road for their first SEC win on the season.
The Hogs took the doubles point to start off the match. Jimena Gomez and Brooke Schafer took down Reese Sager and Asuncion Jadue, 6-0. Then Alex Panagiotidou and Arina Babenko defeated Ellie Myers and Marina Fuduric, 6-2.
Then during singles the Razorbacks took three of the matches to clinch the match. Jimena Gomez took down Ellie Myers, 6-3, 6-3. Alex Panagiotidou defeats Asuncion Jadue, 6(5)-7(7), 6-3, 6-1. No. 23 Carolina Gomez sealed the match defeating Julia Zhu, 2-6, 7(7)-6(4), 6-3. Brooke Schafer fell to Zoe Hammond, 6-0, 6-2. Arina Babenko fell to Elena Molla, 6-3, 6-4. Anet Koskel fell to Reese Sager, 7(7)-6(4), 6-3.
The Hogs return to action against Tennessee on Sunday in Knoxville, Tenn. at 4:00 p.m.
