Back Home at Barnhill Arena

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – After three weeks on the road to start its season, the Razorback volleyball team is back home for this weekend’s Arkansas Invitational at Barnhill Arena. Arkansas will play host to No. 25 Kansas State, Southern Miss and UMKC. The Razorbacks have won 18 of 22 home openers in the program’s history.

As part of Friday’s fan promotions against Kansas State, one UA student will win an Apple Watch and the first 25 students in attendance will get a free team knit hat. All fans can also take advantage of a 2-for-1 special with a ticket for the 12 p.m. match against Southern Miss being good for complimentary admission into the 7 p.m. match against K-State.

Individual match tickets are $5 at the Barnhill Arena ticket window starting one hour prior to first serve of each match. UA students with valid ID and fans 17 years and younger receive free admission. Season tickets are available for purchase through the Razorback Ticket Center with pricing options beginning at $40 and including a free team knit hat. For Friday’s matches, fans are encouraged to park in lots 74, 74A, 74B and 74C (see map). With Saturday doubling as a football game day, fans are encouraged to utilize shuttles that will run from the large parking lot east of Baum Stadium (see map). Those shuttles will run from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Arkansas enters the weekend with three players ranked among the top 10 in SEC statistical rankings. Defensively, senior Breana Jones is fifth in the league with 1.17 blocks per set while sophomore libero Okiana Valle ranks sixth at 4.00 digs per set. The offense has been paced by senior Danielle Harbin who ranks ninth in the SEC with 3.40 kills per set and 10th overall at 3.88 points per set.

The Razorbacks’ opponent for the Arkansas Invitational have combined for a 24-8 record through the first three weeks of the 2016 season. With Kansas State sitting at No. 25 in the country, the Wildcats mark Arkansas’ fourth ranked opponent of the year having already faced No. 1 Nebraska, No. 4 Kansas and No. 14 Illinois.
