Baseball Ends SEC Tournament With Loss to UF

HOOVER, Ala. – The 20th-ranked and No. 5 seed University of Arkansas baseball team (35-22) came up short in a rematch against seventh-ranked and No. 4 seed Florida (42-16), falling 10-0 on day four of the SEC Tournament at the Hoover Met.

Arkansas will now await its NCAA Tournament destination when the field of 64 teams is announced on Monday at 11 a.m. CT on ESPNU. The Razorbacks are looking make their 28th NCAA Tournament appearance, including the 14th consecutive bid.

For the third straight season and the sixth time in the last eight years, Arkansas posted two or more wins in the SEC Tournament as it went 2-2, including a win over No. 7 Florida in the second round.

After 12 straight days on the road, the Razorback bats were silenced, recording just three hits against Florida left-hander A.J. Puk as the Gators scored a run in the first, five in the third and three more in the seventh to earn a 10-0 victory in seven innings.

Brett McAfee, Tyler Spoon and Michael Bernal picked up the hits for Arkansas, as Bernal extended his hitting streak to a career-high 10 games.

Rick Nomura led the Razorbacks at the plate in the tournament, hitting .400 with six hits, including one triple and five runs scored.
