FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – A top-10 battle takes place in Fayetteville this week as No. 9 Arkansas and No. 8 Georgia clash in a three-game series April 6-8 at Bogle Park. Thursday’s series opener is set for 6 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.

The Series
Georgia leads the all-time series, 22-28, despite Arkansas winning the last three meetings. The Hogs and Bulldogs meet for the first time since 2021 when Arkansas swept No. 20 Georgia in Athens for the first time in history. Arkansas is chasing its first series victory vs. Georgia in Fayetteville since 2013 (Arkansas swept No. 22 Georgia in a three-game set). Arkansas’ last win vs. Georgia in Fayetteville was March 30, 2013, defeating No. 22 Georgia 8-1 in the series finale to lock up the sweep. Arkansas is 10-15 vs. Georgia at home. The series dates back to 1997 – the SEC’s inaugural season.
Last Time Out
The Razorbacks are coming off a sweep of Mississippi State in Starkville on March 31-April 2. Most notably, the Hogs have won 10 SEC road series in a row after a stellar showing at Mississippi State. Arkansas got its first conference sweep since it swept South Carolina at Bogle Park on April 29-May 1, 2022. Freshman LHP Hannah Camenzind earned SEC Freshman of the Week for the first time in her career after going 2-0 in the circle with a 0.00 ERA, .192 opponent batting average and four strikeouts across 7.2 innings pitched. Freshman center fielder Reagan Johnson continued to dominate at the leadoff position vs. Mississippi State, compiling a .545 batting average with six hits, four runs scored, one triple and one stolen base. Sophomore right fielder Kacie Hoffmann also had a strong series, amassing a .500 batting average, 1.200 slugging percentage and .545 on base percentage with five hits, two home runs, five RBI, four runs scored and 12 total bases.
Gibby’s Return
Razorback alum and the program’s first two-time All-America selection, Danielle Gibson (2019-22), makes her return to Bogle Park this week, but this time in a different dugout. Gibson is in her first season as Georgia’s Volunteer Assistant Coach. A 2022 NFCA First Team All-American, Gibson hit a program single-season record .445 in 2022. As a fifth-year senior in 2022, Gibson also set program single-season records in hits (81), RBI (70) and total bases (155). Gibson’s holds program career records in batting average (.361), RBI (220) and total bases (419). Freshman LHP Hannah Camenzind earned SEC Freshman of the Week after guiding Arkansas to a weekend series sweep of Mississippi State in Starkville, Miss., on March 31-April 2. The Valley, Neb., product went 2-0 in the circle with a 0.00 ERA, .192 opponent batting average and four strikeouts across 7.2 innings. Making her first career SEC start in Saturday’s 11-0 win, Camenzind helped Arkansas take the series after tossing a four-hit, complete-game shutout, which also marks her first career conference shutout. Throwing a career high five innings and 64 pitches, Camenzind struck out three in game two.

Locking up their 10th consecutive SEC road series victory in Starkville last weekend, Arkansas’ last SEC road series loss was at Alabama on March 6-8, 2020. The Razorbacks have won 11 of their last 12 SEC series, dating back to the 2021 season. Arkansas won all eight series in 2022 before their series winning streak was snapped vs. Texas A&M on March 12. Seven of Arkansas’ last 10 conference road series victories have come against top-25 teams, including two top-10 decisions.
