Colby Hale Named SEC Coach of the Year, Five Hogs Placed on All-SEC Teams

FAYETTEVILLE – SEC regular-season champion Arkansas soccer had multiple Razorbacks named to the SEC all-conference teams and Colby Hale was named the SEC Coach of the Year, the league announced Thursday.

Head coach Colby Hale was named the conference’s Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his career. Junior Kennedy Ball earned First Team All-SEC honors. Three Hogs were named to the All-SEC Second Team: Bella Field, Makenzie Malham and Vailana Tu’ua. Avery Wren was placed on the third team. Tu’ua also appeared on the All-SEC Freshman Team.

Colby Hale – SEC Coach of the Year

  • Guided the Razorbacks to their fifth SEC regular-season title in the last seven years despite numerous season-ending injuries
  • Went an unbeaten 3-0-2 on the road in SEC play
  • The Hogs’ seven wins and two draws in league play this year were also enough to earn the No. 1 seed at the SEC Tournament
  • Received the award in 2019, 2020 and 2023

Kennedy Ball – First Team All-SEC

  • First career SEC honor
  • Led the league in assists during league play with five and assists per game with .50.
  • The Hogs totaled 19 assists in league play, the second most behind Vanderbilt
  • Leads the Arkansas with six assists on the season and ranks second in points with 10
  • Scored a late insurance goal against Alabama on Oct. 16
  • Started in all 10 SEC matches this season
  • Placed on the 2025 SEC Preseason Watch List

Bella Field – Second Team All-SEC

  • Returned to action on Sept. 26 against Ole Miss and scored a brace after missing three games due to a broken nose
  • Scored one of Arkansas’ goals in a 2-2 draw at No. 10 South Carolina on Oct. 2
  • Netted her fourth goal, her first career penalty kick, of SEC play on Oct. 16 against Alabama
  • Helped lead the Razorbacks to their fifth SEC championship with the league’s best offense in SEC play (22 goals)
  • Ranked eighth in SEC play with four goals despite playing in just seven of the 10 matches
  • Placed on the 2025 SEC Preseason Watch List

Vailana Tu’ua – Second Team All-SEC, SEC All-Freshman Team

  • Scored all five of her goals in SEC play, including three game-winners: at Florida, at Texas A&M and against Alabama
  • Scored one of Arkansas’ goals in the 2-2 draw at No. 10 South Carolina
  • Registered at least one point for Arkansas in the first five SEC matches
  • Leads the team with five goals and 12 points
  • Assisted in two goals: the game-winner against No. 17 Vanderbilt on Sept. 18 and against Ole Miss on Sept. 26
  • Ranked fifth in the SEC in league play goals (5) and ranked second among freshmen
  • Helped lead the Razorbacks to their fifth SEC championship with the league’s best offense in SEC play (22 goals)
  • Named SEC Freshman of the Week after recording a brace at Florida on Sept. 12

Makenzie Malham – Second Team All-SEC

  • Started in all 10 of Arkansas’ SEC matches on the back line
  • Played every second of eight SEC matches this season: at Florida, against Vanderbilt, at Texas A&M, at South Carolina, against Mississippi State, against Alabama, at Missouri and against Oklahoma
  • Scored her first goal of the season against Ole Miss on Sept. 26
  • Placed on the 2025 SEC Preseason Watch List
  • Named to the SEC All-Freshman Team in her rookie season (2022)

Avery Wren – Third Team All-SEC

  • Started in all 10 of Arkansas’ SEC matches on the back line
  • Played every second of nine SEC matches
  • Recorded an assist in the opening goal against Oklahoma on Oct. 26
  • Assisted in Malham’s goal against Ole Miss on Sept. 26
  • Placed on the 2025 SEC Preseason Watch List
  • Named to the SEC All-Freshman Team in her rookie season (2023)

No. 4 Arkansas will begin SEC Tournament play on Tuesday, November 4 as the No. 1 seed in the SEC Tournament. The Hogs will face the winner of Mississippi State versus Oklahoma at 4:30 p.m. on SEC Network.
